Automotive Components Floby AB is a supplier to the automotive industry based in Floby, Sweden. The company has specialized in the production of brake disks, wheel bearings and connecting rods. With a workforce of 500, it is based in south-western Floby. The Swedish automotive manufacturer Volvo Car Corporation, based in Gothenburg, holds 100% of the shares. Automotive Components Floby AB sets very high standards in all things. This is why all of its products are manufactured to the very highest of industrial quality and precision standards. Other integral parts of the philosophy of this company are ongoing protection of the environment and energy efficiency. For example, the company monitors its own environmental impact continuously, also with a view to achieving long-term reductions in its energy consumption. To this end, and after careful commercial evaluation, it uses technology to conserve resources. Of course, one of those technologies is the lighting technology.

Back in 2012, Waldmann was already present on site with the Lightliner, and has demonstrated some decisive and future-oriented solutions that have now been implemented in a practical context. The old lighting system in the production buildings has been replaced completely with the TAUREO continuous-row system of lighting, a Waldmann product. The impressive figures include about 6 kilometres of lighting rail, approx. 4,500 lighting modules of 4000lm, 28W-W optics and Dali installation all demonstrate clearly the large scale of this order, and the illumination capacity of these luminaires. The TAUREO LED continuous-row system delivers appropriate lighting for different requirements. Its modular design can be adapted to suit changes in ambient conditions at any time. In addition, continuous dimming as well as daylight and presence sensors can be selected as options. The changeover to the continuous-row system has made it possible to reduce electricity costs and CO2 emissions substantially at Automotive Components Floby AB. As well as these potential cost-savings, the continuous-row system also offers other major benefits. For example, the time and cost saved at the commissioning stage by torsionally resistant and smart load-bearing girders or the long service life of LED lighting, which can last for up to 60 000 hours (L80B10).
