The idyllically situated retirement home on the outskirts of the small village Grasbrunn surprises with a hotel-like atmosphere. Visitors, residents and care personnel alike enjoy the spacious and bright entrance area with colourful walls, paintings and carefully picked interior design elements.

The retirement centre was opened in 2010. It offers 84 fully stationary care places, 6 care apartments and 2 sheltered living groups.

The vivid colour concept is accompanied by a smart light concept specifically suited to elderly people. Great emphasis has been placed on the residents' safety and comfort. All common rooms such as the kitchen rooms, cafeteria must be illuminated in such a way as to meet the residents' requirements on light intensity. In the corridors not only the carefully picked paintings enjoy bright illumination – particularly the seniors' autonomy will be guaranteed at any time of the day.

People's need for light grows considerably with increasing age. High-quality light improves orientation and helps avoid tripping and other accidents. Since the corridors are frequently used, the floor illumination and the lighting intensity at eye level are particularly important. The combination of direct and indirect light fulfills these requirements and makes rooms and corridors "shine" without glare or strong reflections. Proper illuminance at table height is important for the common rooms. For this reason the AMADEA room luminaire has been installed in the pendant and wall versions.

All activity and common rooms in the Grasbrunn residence are equipped with the VANERA wall and ceiling luminaire. Illumination in the common rooms can even be adapted to individual demands alongside the daily routine. The luminaires can reproduce individual scenarios and provide uniform low-shadow and low-glare room illumination. Long corridors can be optically shortened by interrupting them with bright niches. Light concept and vivid colour are perfectly suited and coordinated. They inject an inviting and comfortable atmosphere into any of these rooms.
