Some 60 employees do their utmost every single day to offer their residents a home with self determination, quality of living and comfort. The Wiborada retirement and nursing residence accommodates 50 residents in personally decorated rooms.
The former illumination system failed to conform with the residents' and care personnel's requirements. The new illumination concept aims at higher light intensity in the corridors and in the staircase for better visibility. Also, the bathing area should not only be illuminated more comfortably but brighter as well for enhanced safety in wet areas. In the case of power failure the emergency lighting – incorporated into the luminaires – will step in. Multiple lighting scenarios simulate the natural progression of daylight.
In order to meet these requirements all areas in the residence have been equipped with AMADEA ceiling luminaires. Every second luminaire includes a rechargeable battery and an emergency light controller, should a power failure occur. The suspended luminaires are equipped with DALI ballasts to centrally control individual light scenarios. The biodynamic VISUAL TIMING LIGHT control positively affects the day-night rhythm. Lower energy consumption is another positive side-effect of this light management system. And the improved illumination enhances safety further (minimising the risk of falling or tripping).
